Happy Slapsgiving!

Hey TV fans!

I'm gonna try and pick up some of the slack around here. With winter setting in I usually look forward to a great season of new shows. This year I was getting really prepared. I am currently up to speed with (in weekly order), How I Met Your Mother, The Big Bang Theory, Chuck, Heroes, The Hills, Beauty & The Geek, Kid Nation, The Office, 30 Rock, My Name Is Earl, Scrubs, Friday Night Lights, and Weeds.

And now, all that hard work is going to waste. In two weeks, when the new episodes run out, what will become of me? I might have to finally relent and watch the My So Called Life dvds so that I will finally understand how misunderstood woman are.

But lets not look to the future with pessemism. Lets dwell in the past!

Last night's How I Met Your Mother (hereinafter referred to as "himym"), was brillz as always. I woke up this morning thinking about how I could possibly get myself a copy of the song featured in the episode. And this isn't some new song from some new band you can download on itunes. (Can I write about the episode or will it ruin the suprise for anyone who hasn't seen it? I'm going to write about it, so be warned), Marshal sang a song and played piano! And it was great. In fact, the whole episode was filled with new catch-phrases, games, and the kind of insight into life in November 2007 that makes the show so eerie. Sometimes, its as if the scripts really were written by an older Bob Saget, living in the future and writing about his past. But I digress.

So I woke up wanting to hear this song again, and not wanting to leave work in the middle of the day for some quality tivo time. And then I remembered an episode 2 or 3 weeks ago where Marshal called up Barney to introduce him to the slapcountdown.com clock... the clock that has been sitting on the internet, doing its job, counting. The clock was actually there, on the real life internet, not just on the show internet. Three weeks later and the countdown was done. Who knew this show was interactive? When I went back to the site today, there, in it's place, in all it's musical glory, is a brand new music video for Marshal's very own "You Just Got Slapped". I can't decide if I like the version from the show or the music video more, but either way a classic has been unleashed.

I'm not certain if himym is as popular as it should be. I have never seen an episode that I didn't absoltely love.

The video for the song and other priceless himym gems can be found at youtube.com/howimetyourmother.
